Recent updates and trends in MENA FAST
August felt like a vacation for most FAST platforms in MENA, with one exception: STARZ ON. They continued to expand their channel lineup while others took a break.
Let's check in details the new additions and the channels that were dropped:
STARZ ON was particularly active this August, adding 7 channels - a mix of Pass-through, Owned & Operated, and third-party pure FAST channels. However, they also removed 2 channels, including the Olympic-themed popup channel, Destination Paris.
Shahid made some changes as well, dropping 2 channels in August. One of them was the MBC Gaming popup channel, which had just been launched last month for the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Samsung TV Plus, following its recent launch in June, paused channel additions in August. However, we can expect them to expand their lineup again in September.
No updates to report from the other platforms this month. August was quiet, as expected during this time of year.
