Hey streamers! Today, let’s talk about sports & streaming business models πŸŽΎπŸ‘‡

Hope you’ve recovered from the Alcaraz–Sinner game yesterday.

And what. a. game. As you know, I love stats:

  • Carlos Alcaraz won again in a five-set classic: 4–6, 6–7(4), 6–4, 7–6(3), 7–6(10).

  • It became the longest final in Roland Garros Open Era history: 5h29m.

  • He saved 3 match points: the first to do so in a Grand Slam final since Djokovic in 2019.

But something else caught my attention last week: TOD, the streaming service of beIN Media Group, quietly launched 2 new pricing tiers.

It’s a big update in their pricing strategy, and I’ll break it down for you.

I’ll also look at what Shahid, STARZPLAY, DAZN and Smashi TV are doing, and ask a simple question I’ve been thinking about:

Is SVOD really the best streaming model for sports?
