Hey streamers 👋
Today, I’m sharing something I’ve been working on for The Lab: NETFLIX in MENA.
A dashboard to explore which TV titles appear in Netflix’s Top 10 across the region, how the content mix changes and where Arabic shows find a place.
You can explore it through 3 sections:
Weekly Top 10: Follow the rankings by country and week, or explore the combined MENA ranking.
Content Insights: Compare production countries and genres across markets and months.
Arabic Tracker: Follow identified Arabic titles and their chart history across the region.
The full dashboard is free and open to everyone for now. I wanted to give you a chance to explore it, share it and tell me what would make it more useful. Full dashboard access will later be reserved for premium members.
For this edition of MENA Insights, I’ve also picked 5 findings from the data and added my own thoughts on what they mean for people working in streaming.
The 5 findings and my analysis below are reserved for premium members. You can access the dashboard now without a paid membership.
Read on to learn about:
The production countries behind Netflix’s regional Top 10
How the picture changes when you compare individual markets
What chart history tells us about local and regional reach
The different paths taken by Arabic series
