In 2025 alone, 7 new services launched across sports, niche content, FAST channels, and vertical series. At the same time, platforms like Jawwy TV, Switch TV, Weyyak, and Go Play Market shut down.
In this ecosystem, platforms have no choice but to innovate. One platform is doing this more actively than others: Yango Play.

The Yango Play Model
Yango Play launched in MENA in February 2024 and is now available in UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt.
From the start, Yango Play was not built like a “traditional” streaming service.
Instead of focusing only on series and movies, it launched as a super media app, combining video, music, casual games, and later live TV channels, all included in one subscription.



The platform entered the market with a clear Ramadan-first strategy, focusing early on local Arabic content. Over time, video became the main product, with the app now centered around a “Watch” section across mobile, web, and CTV.
Yango Play relies heavily on partnerships to grow its catalog, working with STARZPLAY, Noor Play, and Crunchyroll through bundles and dedicated sections.
It also uses gamification to drive engagement. Users can earn coins by watching, playing, or completing actions in the app.
In short, Yango Play is building an entertainment ecosystem, with one account, one payment method, and growing links to the wider Yango services.
