52 articles in 52 weeks
I wrote my first article on 28th May last year. Since then, I released 52 editions of The Streaming Lab.
Here are all my articles from the past 6 months:
49 - How Amazon plans to win streaming in India with MX Player?
40 - Leaders Sport Business Summit Abu Dhabi - What have you missed?
32 - FAST in France
The most successful editions?
Can we say FAST is a trending topic? ;)
What changed in one year?
What remains the same is the mission of The Streaming Lab:
Every Monday, I explore the trends that matter to streaming professionals in MENA & all over the world.
What’s new:
From a newsletter to a community
The Streaming Lab is today much more than just articles. It’s also 1,200 streaming professionals from all over the world. In another word: a community.
From MENA to the world
I started The Streaming Lab as I wanted to share what was happening in streaming MENA. I now analyse OTT services and innovative streaming projects from all over the world. My objective: bring expertise to streaming professionals, no matter where they are.
From Data to… more data
If you read me every week, you know that I love data. I want to make sure I bring value to the community every week, by gathering data that is hard to find, displaying it in a nice way, and comparing streaming players through a new lens.
A voice for streaming projects
More recently, I opened my newsletter to companies looking to promote their products and services to a very qualified audience. More details about my sponsorship opportunities HERE.
The Streaming Lab community
The Streaming Lab newsletter is read across 76 countries.
1,200 subscribers coming from UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, India, UK, France, Spain, Germany, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, etc.
Here are some companies that read my articles regularly.
What’s even more interesting is that my readers come from very different positions in their companies: Content acquisition, programming, distribution, Business Development, Marketing, growth, Insights, Tech, Sales, C-Levels, etc.
What’s next @ The Lab?
Keep the pace: Am I going to write this newsletter forever? I don’t know. What I know if that I’ll do my best to send it to you one more year, every week.
Get global: I want to bring value to streaming professionals from all over the world. Because we have a lot to learn from each other.
Keep it free: The only way is to bring sponsors onboard, but in a very transparent way.
Real Life events: I have the opportunity to meet some of you in Dubai or during MIPCOM & MIPTV in Cannes. But I would like to see my readers more often. That’s why I’m thinking of organising small gatherings where we could discuss about FAST, advertising, content and many other streaming topics in an informal atmosphere. Coming soon ;)
Now is the time to let me know what you would like to read in The Streaming Lab newsletter. The floor is yours:
That’s all for today, behind the scenes of The Streaming Lab newsletter. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my wife for her incredible support in this adventure.
See you online next week. Until then, enjoy Prehistoric Planet 2. A TV series showing you what palaeontologists believe dinosaurs were really like. Available on Apple TV+.
Happy bday to the Streaming Lab. Keep up the great work!
