Every week, my readers ask me how AI can support the streaming industry. It’s already happening with a bunch of cool uses out there: predictive analysis for content acquisition, content personalization and recommendation, enhanced search functionality, Ad targeting and personalization or customer support and chatbots. But I really think the biggest game-changer for AI in streaming right now is for content creation and Editing.
WSC Sports enables sports media rights owners to generate personalized and customized videos, automatically and in real-time to reach every fan on every platform. Over 450 partners around the world, including Canal+, YouTube TV, Amazon, ESPN, SuperSport, DAZN, NBA and LALIGA rely on WSC Sports technology that enables more views, more formats, and more fans and viewers.
See for yourself how TNT Sports (formerly Warner Bros. Discovery Sports) has been leveraging WSC Sports’ AI platform for more than six years, to use content most efficiently and effectively across platforms.
What is Tudum?
I’m sure you already know « Tudum » as the sound logo that changed everything for Netflix. It is recognized worldwide and has become a part of our culture.
But Tudum is more than a sound logo, it’s also Netflix’s official site made for and dedicated to the fans. In my article today, I’ll tell you everything you should know about it.
Tudum is mainly a website with articles, including news, exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes content, bonus videos, insights, podcasts and updates coming directly from Netflix Marketing team. Their mission is to make sure you find the information you need about your favorite content, and discover your next obsessions.
What’s even more powerful is that Tudum is now linked to your Netflix account. What does it mean? Tudum knows your content preferences and will highlight articles about the movies and TV series that you watched, put a reminder on, or that you are most likely to like.
Here are examples of articles you can find on Tudum, together with examples and link to access them:

I really like the « Deep Dive » series as Netflix tells you everything you need to know about a specific content: when it will be released, where you can find the trailer, who’s in the cast, what happens, where does it takes place or if it’s based on a book or a true story.
All those articles are categorised in 8 different sections:

The impact of a Tudum-like website on streaming Marketing strategies
Creating a website like Netflix's Tudum could offer several benefits to other streaming services. Here are some reasons why it could be a game-changer:
Building a community: Exclusive content such as behind-the-scenes looks and interviews with industry talent can improve viewer loyalty and create a sense of community and attachment to the platform.
Facilitating discovery: Articles like Trending and What to Watch and can improve content discoverability and encourage exploration of new content.
Leveraging personnalization: Carousels like Based on what you’ve watched keep users updated about their favorite shows. This personalization creates a deeper connection with the platform and can improve retention rates.
Boosting new shows: Featuring new content and creating podcasts to announce what’s coming to a platform or invite local actors to talk about their latest series can help smaller or new shows gain traction and visibility among the service’s audience.
Driving traffic: A content-rich website can drive traffic coming from search engines, increasing overall visibility and attracting new subscribers.
By adopting a model similar to Tudum, other streaming services can improve the user experience thanks to personalized content discovery and engagement but also open up new channels for promotion, solidifying their position in a competitive streaming market.
That’s all for today, what is Tudum and why streaming services should have their own website dedicated to their fans. If you enjoyed this breakdown, please consider sharing it with your friends and colleagues!
I hope everyone has a great week, see you online next Monday. Until then, enjoy Shōgun on Disney+.
